Equinox

Aimed at creating a 5 star luxury experience rather than that of a traditional gym, the sumptuous 10,668 sqm / 35,000 sqft interiors of Equinox London occupy the top floor of the old Derry and Toms department store on Kensington High Street. The Strength Room (previously The Rainbow Room) occupies the top floor of what was the Biba boutique, known as the sexiest shop in the world at the time.

The design is conceived to celebrate the building’s rich history and unique architecture — the Grade II listed Art Deco restaurant and nightclub hosted early performances by David Bowie and Bryan Ferry’s Roxy Music. To reflect the grandeur of the original building’s hey day, a considered selection of organic and sustainable materials is in use.
